Daydreams

It’s hard to control a dream;

it creeps upon you in the stealth of night,

But my daydreams are all mine.

In a meadow

watching the sun through clouds

disperse and whisk by

they merge and separate

shadows dancing across the sky.

Content in my daydream

tiny white butterflies

and wisps of dandelion fluff

float on my horizon.

So real,

yet, perhaps only a memory.

Today is only rainy and grey.

My daydream spares me from the reality.
